National Trails Day & Snowshoe Tours Expected again for 2006 Shinneyboo Creek Cabin Resort Schedule
Shinneyboo Creek Cabin Resort, located in the Tahoe National Forest, announced that it hosted a Winter Trails Day sponsored by Winter Feels Good, a program developed by SnowSports Industries America (SIA) and has been endorsed by the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA), the Cross Country Ski Areas Association (CCSAA) and Professional Ski Instructors of America/American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA/AASI). It is supported by the United States Ski/Snowboard Association (USSA), Sports Specialists, LTD. (SSL), Ski Merchandising Corporation (SMC) and a number of Rep Associations and Regional Ski Area Associations.
Winter Feels Good is a program developed by SnowSports Industries America to demonstrate how non-motorized winter sports such as snowshoeing, snowboarding, alpine skiing and cross country skiing can benefit adults and children, helping them to achieve health and fitness through the winter months, no matter what their current fitness level is.
Participants at the 2005 Winter Trails Day explored the 160 acre resort and surrounding Tahoe National Forest on snowshoes. Shinneyboo Creek Cabin Resort stated that it expects to host a 2006 Winter Trails Day and offer ongoing Tahoe National Forest snowshoe tours.
